Classes at Sierra College as Academic Enrichment
As a high school student you can take classes tuition free as Academic Enrichment.

Registration for summer Sierra classes is now closed as classes begin Monday, June 8th.
Registration Fall classes opened May 1st

Academic Enrichment Steps
If you are taking a class with Sierra College this summer and have an issue please contact Sierra College Outreach at 916-660-7582. For other Sierra related questions that don’t need immediate attention, please email Mrs. Fessenden at bfessenden@puhsd.k12.ca.us. She will be on summer break from June 9th - Aug, 3rd but will approve permission forms and respond to emails once a week on Mondays, beginning Monday, July 6th.

FALL 2026 DUAL ENROLLMENT STEPS THAT YOU CAN COMPLETE NOW
If when choosing your courses for next year you selected one or more courses that are dual enrollment with Sierra College, you have steps to complete now to prepare for registration. When the class schedules become available and when you are scheduled to take a dual enrollment class, be it Fall 2026 or Spring 2027, you will receive another email with specifics regarding the course, including start date, location and and next steps you need to take.

Steps for students who have never taken a Sierra College class
They include creating an OpenCCC account, Sierra application and permission form

Steps for students who HAVE previously taken a Sierra College class
They will include a permission form and may also include a Fall 2026 application if you did not take a Sierra class in the spring. I will be on summer break from June 9th - Aug, 3rd but will approve permission forms and respond to emails once a week on Mondays, beginning Monday, July 6th.

Sierra College Enrollment Steps for 2025-2026 Del Oro and Confluence Graduates
Registration opened Fri. April 24th.

FAFSA for SENIORS

The 2026-27 FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened October 1st. All trade school, 2 year community college or 4 year university bound seniors and their parents must create their own FSA ID.
All trade school and college bound seniors should complete the FAFSA regardless of family income.
March 2nd is the FAFSA Priority deadline!

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION from SIERRA COLLEGE

    • Financial Aid is money that students receive to succeed in college, and that may look like grants, scholarships, loans, or work study. This also includes the Two Years Free grant for California students.
    • You must submit a 26/27 FAFSA or 25/26 California Dream Act.
    • Complete California Dream Act if you identify with one of the following
    • Undocumented students
    • DACAmented students
    • U visa holders
    • TPS holders
    • Complete FAFSA if you identify with one of the following
    • US Citizen
    • Students in mix-status homes: Meaning the student is a US Citizen and parents are undocumented
    • U.S. permanent resident, with a Permanent Resident Card (formerly known as an Alien Registration Receipt Card or "Green Card")
    • Conditional permanent resident (I-551C)
    • Other eligible noncitizens with an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from the Department of Homeland Security showing any one of the following designations: "Refugee," "Asylum Granted," "Indefinite Parole," "Humanitarian Parole," or "Cuban-Haitian Entrant."
    • A citizen of the Republic of Palau (PW), the Republic of the Marshall Islands (MH), or the Federated States of Micronesia (FM)

Posted on the College & Career and the Del Oro homepage calendars for college visits, come learn about what the college has to offer and get the answers to your specific questions in this small group setting. The College Representative will be a direct contact for follow up questions and in many cases be the first person to read your college application if you apply to that school. The presenter’s name and email information is included in the calendar visit notes.
